Immigration Reform – Promises, promises, and nothing but promises again
Reading the news this morning regarding President Obama’s visit to Colombia and his again promising to handle immigration reform reminds me of the continuing promises and the failure to do anything for the voting Hispanics who want the immigration reform.
It has been a ploy used by the Democrats to try to demonize the Republicans related to such an issue of immigration reform. They use the Hispanic Media to promote such demonizing and fail to convey the truth that Republicans are not against reform of our outdated immigration system.
We, Republicans as well as most Hispanics, want to protect our border as well as to provide an easier path than the present law for those qualified and willing to work to become part of our work force. Hispanics are hard workers.
Most of the reason for illegal immigration that we have been facing through the years is our own outdated system of immigration making people who qualify to become legal residents wait six to nine years. Those people already qualify; why should they wait that long?
We are not looking to create a total amnesty program. We just want to make it a reasonable process in time for those who qualify and to create new rules for qualifications that protect our workers and the country.
I wonder how long are the voting Hispanics in the country going to continue listening to the broken promises of the present administration when we know it goes against the most powerful groups supporting them which are the unions.
They use our people to promote their agenda when we know those politicians will not even vote in favor of such reforms when the time comes.
We can force them to address such issues by becoming part of the Republican platform and supporting Mitt Romney for president.
I tryly agree that the Democrats are playing politics with the Latinos by promising results and not acting on them when they were in power with full control of Congress and the Presidency.
They are playing on the uneducated and trying to portray that they have all of us in their pockets.
Most of our people are not on welfare, do not receive government assistance and they do work and pay taxes.
It is sad to see many Mexican-Americans being lied by the present administration and those Democrat politicians claiming that they represent us.
Beware, we cannot continue crying foul upon their failed promises.
I support for the Hispanics to join the Republican party and then show the country what we can do for the country and for our people.
No more race or class warfare.
